Why I took my car to BMW SPECIALTY SHOP B

The car was purchased from a private party in August of '96 with 97,400 miles on it, the only pre-existing condition the previous owner admitted to was: a little front end shimmy around 50 mph- probably just a wheel balance thing.

I went through several costly repair measures with a couple of different shops to address this front end situation, and by November I still had not resolved it to my satisfaction.

While the engine seemed strong and had not consumed any oil at all during the approx.7000 miles I had driven it so far, the run-around I had experienced in trying to get to the bottom of the front end problems had left me not particularly confident of any shop's appraisal of the overall condition of this vehicle, so, just to be on the safe side I took it to BMW SPECIALTY SHOP B with now 104,134 miles to have a full used car diagnostic suite of tests run.

My hope was that they might be able to actually explain what was causing the front end problems, and determine if there might be any other preventable difficulties that had been overlooked by everyone elses focus on the suspension problems.
